Our good friends and Family at Wastebusters are coming back this year to help Green the Dream!

Now we all know its our jobs to pack it in and pack it out but what waste we do have left we want to make sure goes to the right place.

That is where this Awesome team of individuals comes in with almost Super Hero like powers to save the day. Wastebusters helps sort the garbage, diverting recycling, compost and landfill to their appropriate places. Then when we’re all done they issue a report and let us know how GREEN was the Dream.

Now its up to us to help make sure that this event leaves as little to no footprint here at this beautiful location but we need to your help to do it.

Here’s some helpful tips from the Preparing from Burning Man Survival Guide that can help you on your way to the Dream:

- Prepare BOTH a Leave No Trace plan AND a cleanup plan for your camp, so you can LNT as you go and have less to clean up and restore before you leave.
- Remove all excess packaging from everything you buy (food, supplies, tools) before you pack it.
- Don’t bring glass containers of any kind … they can shatter.
- Smokers: make a portable ashtray (a mint tin, for instance) to collect your cigarette butts and ashes. This is especially important with the High Fire risk in the area.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Most people know the 3 R’s of the waste reduction hierarchy – Reduce first, then Reuse as much as possible, then Recycle what is left over. In fact, According to the US EPA: “Source reduction or waste prevention, which includes reuse, is the best approach”.
